Eastern Oregon University

Just in case you haven't heard the news...we are moving! Ryan was offered a position as Assistant Professor of History at Eastern Oregon University and has accepted! In a year in which nobody is being hired and many are being laid off, Ry has not only managed to be offered a position at a wonderful University...it just happens to be in OREGON!!! He has been working his bum off for almost 5 years now to receive his PhD in History. All along I have been nagging about wanting to move back home and he has actually managed to make that happen...when the chances of a position opening in Oregon were slim to none. Our families of course are as thrilled as we are. While we are both incredibly excited, we have been building a life here for the past 5 years and it is not going to be easy to say goodbye. In our time here in Utah we have started our careers, got Haley girl, built a home, made amazing friends & of course had our sweet baby girl. All of those things are making it incredibly difficult to think about moving away. Of course Haley & Taylor will be coming with us...but we will be moving away from our first home that we brought our baby girl in and more importantly the people that have helped make Utah home for us. This new chapter in our lives is a big one and we are so excited. Thank you to everyone that has been supporting us and praying for this to happen. Most importantly thank you to my hubby for working so incredibly hard. This is it, you will be Dr. Ryan Dearinger soon, I am so proud of you!

Father's Day at the Beach!

Grandad Webb & Tay

A family photo...we don't get to do this often!

Ry & Papa at our rainy bonfire! Love the mini umbrella!

After a fun couple of days in Vancouver visiting Grandma & Grandpa Dearinger as well as Bryan & Courtney we headed to the beach for a fun Father's Day! Taylor hadn't been since Christmas and we all had a blast watching her run around on the sand. It's still hard to believe that my baby girl can run! She wasn't so sure about the sand on her bare feet, but with her little sandals on there was no stopping her! She loved finding "collectibles" also known as shells and it was fun watching her just take it all in. It was so special for me to see her running around on the beach just like I use to, I know my parents loved it!
After two trips to the beach we had a great family dinner with Grandad Webb, Aunt & Uncle Gustafson, Auntie Ashley, Uncle Joel & Auntie Julie...and Grandma & "PopPop" of course!
My Papa has been working on their beautiful backyard for a little while now and it was ready for us to all enjoy when we got there, including the great fire pit! Only problem was the rain, but being the resourceful man that he's always been he pulled out the beach umbrellas and we were still able to enjoy our fire!
It's days like this, when we are all just sitting around as a family that I can't wait to enjoy more often after our move back to Oregon!

Mr & Mrs Hawthorne

This past weekend we drove to Vancouver for a great visit! Our friends Ryan & Kelly were married on the 20th and we all had a great time at their amazing wedding. Here are some pics from our night. Grandma & Grandpa took Tay a few hours into the wedding, it was our first time since she was born that we were out without her! We had a great time catching up with all of our friends! Congrats to Ryan & Kelly Hawthorne, we are so excited for you two!

Cousin Debbie at her baby shower!
Baby Colton...so cute!
Taylor with Great Grandma & Grandma D.

This was a quick visit, but we packed a lot of adventures into our weekend. Bryan & Courtney were in town so we all had a great time playing with Taylor.
Grandma had already checked out the parks and found this great one that had swings for Tay, which have become one of her favorite things to do. She says "weeee" the whole time! In our few days we were in town we got to visit with friends, surprise my relatives at my cousin Debbie's baby shower, visit with our Grandparents, go to the park..oh and of course the wedding!
Some how I ended up with no pics of Grandma & Grandpa...but here are a few from our visit to their house! Next time be ready to pose for lots of pictures you two!

The Big 30 for Ryan & Bryan!

Daddy gave Tay this special glove & ball before she was even born!

Happy Birthday drawing for Uncle Bryan from Tay

Ryan & Bryan are 30! It's a big one and I love the fact that I am 3 years younger and can make fun of them! We had a low key celebration on the actual day here in Salt Lake, but we did surprise Ry with Bees tickets and had a fun family night together. The big birthday celebration was Ryan flying out to surprise Bryan that weekend! Courtney being the wonderful planner that she is thought of the best gift ever for Bryan, flying his brother out to D.C. so they could be together! Courtney, Bryan & Ryan spent a great weekend together in D.C. celebrating their 30th birthday. Ry and Courtney pulled off a great surprise with not telling Bryan and shocking him at Union Station when Ry appeared! Thanks Courtney for flying Ryan out there, it really was special for the boys to be together and you made it happen!
Happy Birthday to both Ry & Bry...we all love you very much!
