My Hubby the Professor

So today was the first day of classes at EOU and I am so proud of Ryan. He is officially a professor and doing what he loves...teaching! We all know how incredibly hard he has been working towards this goal and I am just so excited to have seen him achieve it! The hard work hasn't stopped as he is preparing for all his lectures, writing syllabus and more...but if anyone can do it I know it's him. Here's to a great first Fall Term at Eastern Oregon University! Go Mountaineers!

Thank you Papa!

This weekend my Papa and Madison came to La Grande to help us with some of the final unpacking projects. The list is long, but to name a few things he helped us finally put Tay's nursery together, built my desk, hung her swing, organized my garage, put the treadmill back together, etc...
So of course we have to say a huge Thank You and also to Mom for letting us steal Papa two weekends in a row. We are anxious for wedding season to end so "Backa" can come visit now!
I didn't ever get to post about it, but also a huge thank you to Dan & Glenda for helping Tay & I unpack when we first moved! They were so great to meet us here after our long drive from Utah and helped with the first few days of just making sense of it all! Glenda helped put two beds together while Grandpa read numerous books and played collectibles with Tay. We really do appreciate everything that you do for us!
Thanks to everyone for all the help...we are almost unpacked!

Our Habbajoe

I haven't posted about Haley girl in quite a while and felt like it was about time. Haley has had a difficult couple of months but thanks to a recent stay in rehab, is feeling much better these days. Before our move began we started Haley on some medicine for both a thyroid problem as well as a virus that she picked up at the groomers. Unfortunately the virus didn't go away and we later found out the meds we had her on were to high of a dose and were making her worse off. Thankfully our parents Dan & Glenda took Haley in for almost 3 weeks while we were homeless and then moving...this is what we call rehab. They nursed her back to health and had their wonderful family vet take a look at her and get her all back on track with the correct medicine. After losing almost 15 pounds (no fat jokes here...we know she was kind of large to begin with) our sweet little Habbajoe is back in action! A huge thank you to Dan & Glenda for taking such incredible care of her, we know it was a lot of work. We now have her on a special diet which of course she loves and I am pretty sure the Oregon air is helping out quite a bit. Haley loves just laying in the cool wet grass now and just taking in her new surroundings! It's great to have her back and we are so happy she is feeling better! We love you Habbajoe!

Utes Vs. Oregon

This past weekend Ryan, Julie, Papa & I all went to the Utes vs. Oregon game in Eugene. Ryan & I were two Utes in the middle of MANY ducks in our section, but we were shocked at how many Utes came to the game! It was fun to see all that red mixed in with green & yellow. Even though we lost...it was a fun game...rain and all. Our friends Annie & Murry made the drive for the game and we had a great time walking around Eugene in our red Utes gear together!
Who would have ever thought that I would go to an Oregon game wearing all red Utes gear!
GO UTES!

Living at 1350 Michigan

Ryan & I are so fortunate to have met Annie & Murry the summer of 2004 when we first moved to Salt Lake 5 years ago. Transplants themselves we of course shared a lot in common and helped each other "deal" with the big move we had all just made. Fast forward to the summer of 2009, now our bestfriends A & M allow our little family to take over 1350 Michigan and will probably never be the same again.
It takes a serious friend to allow a couple and their 16 month daughter to move in with them for more than just a weekend stay. Ry is still living at 1350 Michigan and is so incredibly lucky to have such amazing friends supporting him on these last days before defending his dissertation. We all can't believe that this time has finally come and we really will miss you two. Taylor still asks for Bobo and occasionally just asks "Annie?"...you guys have made a lasting impression on little Tay, while Ryan & I will never be able to fully thank you enough. Just know that we do appreciate you both and are so happy to have found a lifelong friendship in you two. We look forward to many fun visits and can't wait to see you next weekend!
1350 Michigan we miss you so.

Saying Goodbye to the BG

So August 31st actually has come and gone. For a while I just pretended that nothing was happening and this move that we had all been talking about for the past months wasn't really happening. But then I had to move out of my house and then I had to say goodbye to the BG...and it all hit. Walking out the door that Monday evening was so incredibly difficult. Thank you Goose Girls for being such great friends to me. I was very blessed to have worked with a group of women that are so talented and inspiring and such a joy to work with. I miss you already! Every party I host I will think...hmm I wonder what Brooke would do. Every time I go shopping I will think...hmm I wonder what Stacy could do with this. Every time I attempt to sew I will think...hmm I wonder how Leslie would do this. Every time I make a chicken salad I will think...hmm I wish this tasted like Kelly's. Every time I pass an Anthropology I will think...hmm I wonder if Broc bought that for Jen yet. :) And every time I visit the beach I will think...hmm I wish D was here to enjoy this.
So obviously I will be thinking about you girls a lot and I miss you. Thanks for an amazing 3 1/2 years...my Utah experience would never have been the same without you. You really are all A BIG DEAL in my book! Love you lots!
