WaterBabies Swim Graduate!

Taylor is officially a graduate of the WaterBabies Swimming Class and oh did we have fun!  Tonight was the last night for this session and we of course had to end it with 3 trips down the slide.  As usual Tay spent the class asking Teacher Amanda to watch her as well as Emmy and Daddy who were watching from the bleachers.  Tonight we even got Tay to float on her back by asking her to show Teacher Amanda her toes...nice little trick!

Meet Taylor's New Friend Sophie!

So with our new schedule packed full of activities for Taylor we have met two new wonderful friends...one for Taylor and one for me!  Taylor loves playing with "Baby Sophie" as she calls her and teaching her all about being a big girl.  This typically includes showing off in front of her as she did most of the afternoon yesterday while we were playing with Sophie.  Monica is Sophie's Mom and has been a great new friend for me these past few weeks.  She is a transplant to The Big as well and we have found that we share quite a lot in common.  Our little girls are almost exactly one year apart!  It's crazy to me that Taylor is the big kid..I am so use to her being the baby!  We love having new friends and being able to have playdates!

Swim Night with Daddy!

Taylor has just loved having swim class every Tuesday & Thursday this month and has become quite the little swimmer!  Last night Daddy went swimming with us and Tay was thrilled...of course talking about it all day in anticipation!  She has now mastered kicking, jumping off the side of the pool, going under water and of course the slide!  Still working on floating on her back...not a big fan as of now.  She does however LOVE showing Teacher Amanda how she can swim, "look Amana...i swim...i kick..watch Amana..watch"!  So funny and we love watching her learn and enjoy something so much!

Oh and no Emmy does not go in the pool...he just watches from the bleachers.  She does however wave to him every once in a while saying hello making sure he is watching her!  Oh my.

Mardi Gras!

Happy Mardi Gras!  Taylor and I went to campus this afternoon to have lunch with Dadda and happened on a wonderful little Mardi Gras celebration at the student union with live music, cake and beads galore!  Tay loved collecting some "prettys" and dancing to the music for a bit...off to swim class now...not sure how to convince her that the "prettys" don't go swimming with us!

Valentine's Festivities

This week has been full of fun Valentine's activities!  It has been so much fun because Taylor is old enough to start really enjoying all the fun holiday traditions!  We made heart sugar cookies earlier in the week which of course she loved.  I about died when she ran into her kitchen grabbed her mixer, wooden spoon and eggs and brought them out next to mine!  It was hilarious watching her copy everything I was doing.  She loved cutting out the cookies and then watching them bake in the oven all the while saying "hot..watch out, hurt you"!  Then yesterday Dadda sent Taylor in the house with a single rose and then followed her with the other 11 for me!  Tay loved her rose and kept sticking her nose all the way inside of it.  This morning Ryan made us heart shaped PINK chocolate chip pancakes...amazing (thanks for the mix Mom)!  Now we are enjoying a fun day together and of course Taylor is entertaining us as usual with concerts and dancing!  Happy Valentine's Day...hope it's a special one!

Kick Kick Kick

Taylor is a fish!  She loves the water and was thrilled with the idea of taking swim lessons and the pool!  We started class last night and she was so excited.  We have been talking about swim lessons for about a week, she says "water, a pool, kick kick, teacher"!  She pretty much had it figured out before we even got there.  She loved meeting teacher Amanda, playing with the toys, meeting the other babies, jumping off the side of the pool into Mama's arms...and her favorite...the slide!  At the end of class we got to go down this huge slide...a little scary for me as I was trying to hold onto her and not let her go under...but Taylor loved it.  She kept saying...more please...more!
Swimming lessons are for the next 3 weeks and I am excited to see how much more she can learn!

A Small Obsession...

I am back in the scrapbooking saddle again!  Last weekend I attended a MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) scrapbooking fundraiser event here in the LG and I am officially obsessed once again.  I go through these stages and I mean business this time!  I wanted to have this scrapbook of Taylor's 1st year finished before her 1st birthday...and well she will be 2 soon!  So I have been working every day on it and hope to have it finished soon.  I love that I had room in my little office to set up a scrapbook work table so I can really focus!  So much fun and a great way to remember just how special our 1st year together was!

Just a fun little weekend...

This weekend was just wonderful.  We now officially have a babysitter and we LOVE her!  Friday we went on our first official date night since Taylor was born (yep...22 months).  We of course have had nights out without her...but always while on vacation or visiting our parents...never just a babysitter at our own house!  Taylor really likes Anna (the babysitter) and we were thrilled for the chance to go out.  We went to Mt. Emily's for a drink and then to the movies!  Popcorn and Diet Coke for me please!
Then Saturday we went to a basketball game at EOU and cheered the boys on to victory...well we only lasted until the half because it was way past bedtime for Tay...but it was a blast while it lasted!
